Land-Use Suitability Assessment Using Delphi and Analytical Hierarchy Process (D-AHP) Hybrid Model for Coastal City Management: Kuala Terengganu, Peninsular Malaysia

Since at least half of the world’s population resides and works within coastal land, zone processes resource management is great economic social importance. One fundamental issues for city planners, researchers, managers, engineers land-use suitability. Land-use suitability ability a given type land to support defined use. Rapid urbanization consequent haphazard growth cities result in deterioration infrastructure facilities, loss agricultural water bodies, open spaces, many micro-climatic changes. Hence, accurate data on hazards are essential valuable tools planning management, sustainable development, environment conservation, selection site structures, resources. In this investigation, Delphi Analytical Hierarchy Process (D-AHP) Hybrid model Geographic Information System (GIS) technique Coastal Land-Use Assessment (CLUA) mapped detect most suitable unsuitable areas Kuala Terengganu zone. Furthermore, research offered information not only present urban trend established amenity status Terengganu, but also potential establishment facilities improved appropriate decision-making. Using D-AHP GIS tool broadly practical government, policymakers, planners appropriately strategize plan future Malaysia other analog around world.
